Madonna has been named the Worst Dressed Celebrity of 2009. The '4 Minutes' singer topped the poll by animal rights group PETA because she continues to wear fur. In a statement, PETA said: "When you see Madonna in fur, you realise why nobody has copied her style since 1984. "We know she's on the prowl for a young cub, but someone needs to tell Madonna that wearing fur doesn't make you a cougar." But despite her unwanted title, Madonna is launching a new fashion line. The 'Material Girl' singer has teamed up with designer Ed Hardy to create the "innovative" range, which includes tattoo-inspired T-shirts and diamante-encrusted bodices. Brand owner Christian Audigier approached the 50-year-old singer after he spotted her wearing Ed's tattoo-print clothes. He reportedly offered Madonna a six-figure sum to design her own line and even organised a private catwalk show to inspire her. The musician was seen arriving at Audigier's office last month and will reportedly put the finishing touches to her range this month. Madonna designed a "cheap and trendy" range for Swedish clothing company H+M in March 2007. |
